THERE WERE SOME BIG score racked up last night in the Michael Murphy Sports Under-21 B Championship.

It was largely a night for the away teams with Burt, Na Rossa, Gaeil Fhánada and Letterkenny Gaels all winning on the road and Urris were the only home side to taste victory.

Here’s how the action panned out:

Urris 3-17 St Mary’s, Convoy 3-6

URRIS pulled clear of St Mary’s, Convoy at Crampsey Park last night.

The game was nip-and-tuck at the interval, when Urris led 2-7 to 2-3, but the Clonmany representatives kicked for home in the second half to win by 11 points in the end.

Conor Bradley aced the night, scoring 1-7, while Kevin McLaughlin hit 1-2 and their other goal arrived from the boot of Dillon McEleney.

Gavin Sweeney, Darren Bonner and Patrick Dolan bagged the St Mary’s, Convoy goals.

Urris scorers: Conor Bradley 1-7, Kevin McLaughlin 1-2, Danny Devlin 0-3, Dillon McEleney 1-0, Charlie Doherty 0-2, Aiden Friel, Ryan Doherty R, Ryan Doherty J 0-1 each.

St Mary’s Convoy scorers: Patrick Dolan 1-3, Gavin Sweeney, Darren Bonner 1-0 each, Michael Ayton, Anthony Bogle, Kevin Bonner 0-1 each.

Moville 3-07 Burt 4-20

MARK McElhinney scored 2-4 and Mark Coyle 1-7 as Burt scorched past Inishowen rivals Moville last night at Carrick Field.

Burt were 3-12 to 0-3 in front at the break, with Dylan Doherty’s hat-trick of goals in the second half bringing Moville a little closer by the finish.

However, Burt had the spadework done in the first half with McElhinney (2) and Calvin Gallagher finding the net.

Coyle’s second-half major helped seal a big win.

Burt scorers: Mark McElhinney 2-4, Mark Coyle 1-7, Calvin Gallagher 1-0, Sean McHugh, Stevie O’Donnell 0-3 each, Darren Gallagher 0-2, Ryan Red 0-1.

St Naul’s 0-11 Na Rossa 3-12

NA ROSSA did the damage in the first half for a fine away win at St Naul’s last night.

Na Rossa were 3-8 to 0-3 ahead by the changeover. Conor McCahill helped himself to two goals and Gerard Breslin netted the other.

Although they managed only four points in the second half they were far enough in front to ensure that St Naul’s couldn’t sufficiently close the margins.

St Naul’s scorers: Daniel Brennan 0-5, Conor McDevitt 0-2, Brendan McCole, Martin Breslin, Sean Meehan 0-1 each.

Na Rossa: Conor McCahill 2-0, Odhrán Molloy 0-5, Gerard Breslin 1-1, Sean McMonagle, Christian Bonner 0-2 each, Adam McHugh, Caolan Bonner, 0-1 each

Naomh Bríd/Pettigo 2-08 Gaeil Fhánada 0-17 (after extra time)

GAEIL Fhánada started brightly and dominated the first half but only held a three-point advantage at the break leading 0-8 to 0-5.

They also contributed nine wides in a poor display of shooting which was not helped by the terrible conditions.

The Naomh Bríd/Pettigo combination were eight down with ten minutes left, but Pat Moss’ late, late goal took the game to extra time after a stirring comeback.

Eventually, Oisin McFadden and Niall Carr swung over the decisive points for Gaeil Fhánada, who saw Eoghan Carr kick 11 points.

Gaeil Fhánada scorers: Eoghan Carr (0-11), Enda Coll (0-3); Oisin McFadden (0-2, Niall Carr (0-1)

Red Hughs 1-5 Letterkenny Gaels 1-14
