Ronan Curtis and Irish U21s on a freezing mission in Norway

Just before the Republic of Ireland senior team are jousting with Denmark for a place in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Ronan Curtis and the Irish U21s will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the UEFA U21 qualifiers.

Noel King’s U21s take on Norway at 6pm Irish time this evening in Dremmen.

Ireland currently lead Group Five in their qualifying campaign after the first four games which have seen Ireland pick up victories against Kosovo, Azerbaijan and Israel.

Norway held Ireland to a 0-0 draw in Tallaght Stadium last month and claimed an impressive 3-1 win over Germany last time out.

Temperatures are set to drop to minus three in the Marienlyst Stadion during the game which will be played on a 3G pitch.

Ireland will be without Reece Grego-Cox and Ryan Delaney, who didn’t travel due to injury, with Connor Dimaio and recent Derry City signing Rory Hale called up to replace them.

St Johnston man Curtis has been to the fore in recent games and is tipped to be in from the off again this evening.
