SHELBOURNE have confirmed the signing of Roma McLaughlin from Peamount United.

The Greencastle woman has been with Peamount for the last two seasons having cut her teeth with her native Greencastle United.

McLaughlin was last season’s young player of the year in the Women’s National League and has been nominated again this year.

For the past two seasons, McLaughlin – who made her Republic of Ireland senior debut in 2016 – has been included on the WNL Team of the Year.

Shelbourne won the WNL last year and will compete in the Champions League in 2017.

“Shelbourne ladies are delighted to announce the signing of Irish international Roma McLaughlin for the up coming WNL and Champions League seasons,” Shelbourne said.

“Roma has had two great seasons at Peamount United where she earned a place in the team of the year two seasons running, as well as winning the young player of the year last season and is short-listed or the award again this year.

“Roma will no doubt make a huge impact at Shelbourne. We take the opportunity to welcome Roma to the club and wish her the very best for what is to be a very exciting season.”
