Raphoe woman basks in Usain Bolt’s glorious World Gold!

AFTER Usain Bolt stormed to victory in the 200m final at the World Championships in Beijing today, one of the first people the Jamaican sought out was Raphoe’s Grainne O’Dea.

O’Dea is pictured above proudly holding the spikes worn by Bolt during the final, in which the Jamaican sprint sensation destroyed American Justin Gatlin with Bolt doing a time of 19.55 to Gatlin’s 19.74.

She is also clutching the Jamaican flag Bolt was celebrating with after clinching an impressive Gold.

O’Dea works for PACE Sports Management, the company headed by Milford man and former Finn Valley AC man Ricky Simms. PACE Sports Management count Bolt as one of their clients with the Jamaican undoubtedly the blue chip athlete on their books.

O’Dea looks after Athlete Management while her brother Darren is also employed by PACE.

Now based in Teddington, Grainne O’Dea is a former middle distance runner of some renown with Finn Valley AC and she was a scholarship athlete at the University of South Alabama where she obtained an Undergraduate degree in Physical Education and a Masters degree in Exercise Science.

As well as Bolt, PACE also look after the likes of  Christine Ohuruogu, Phillips Idowu, Vivian Cheruiyot and Mo Farah.
