Brandon Wilkie McGlinchey from Elmwood Downs in Letterkenny had a day that even he could only of dreamed about  when making the long trek to Ballyconneely in Co Galway and landed a glorious treble.

Brandon is the great grandson of the late Bernard McGlinchey, who was the proprieter of the Golden Grill in Letterkenny.
Brandon got of to the the best possible start when Kaylessi took the 148cm pony race for Amanda Sweeney of Letterkenny, who the teenager rides out for.
His day got even better in the 12 furlong maiden when Cruise Control was victorius and then the 14 year old capped of a fine afternoon by taking the 15 hands race aboard Miss Bossy Boots.
Congratulations must go to the young man and this could be the perfect stepping stone for the Co Donegal born teenager.
Next up is the Dingle races where he will surely have a leading chance of another winner or two for the Sweeney’s of Oldtown in Letterkenny.
Dylan Browne McMonagle made it 51 winnners for the season and kept up his relentless charge towards the National Title when guiding Silver Dollar home in the 10 furlong open and the 15-year-old will be in action on Mondayat Balintra before he sets of for Dingle races on Tuesdaywhere he will be hoping to retain his champion jockey crown which he has held for the past two years.
