WITH TEN days to go in Race Against Cornavirus – Ireland’s first virtual 3k race – there is still time to do your bit for Donegal’s frontline workers.

Race Against Coronavirus was set up by Convoy siblings Shannon and Pauric McLaughlin.

The money raised will go towards assisting the frontline workers battling against the Covid-19 virus.

The McLaughlins have identified a need for protective gowns at Letterkenny University Hospital as their first port of call.

“We are working on retrieving protective gowns for them so that they are comfortable and are sure to be working in a safe environment,” they said.

Already, the initial €500 target has been surpassed with in excess of €1,800 lifted at the time of writing.

Now, the next target is to pass the magical €2,000 mark.

Shannon and Pauric cut their teeth at Finn Valley AC and both were on scholarships to the USA.

There is a rolling leaderboard for male, female and junior participants, which can be found here and is updated nightly: https://raceagainstcoronavirus.com
