THIS TIME TOMORROW we should know the make-up of the final in the Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Donegal SFC.

We’ve four teams remaining and there’s action first of all at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny where Glenswilly will take on Malin at 2:30pm.

Michael Canning’s Glenswilly started the season and the championship slowly, going down to Ardara in their opening fixture in May. However, they managed to fight back to win their group following wins over Dungloe and then Bundoran. Last Saturday they were comprehensive winners over MacCumhaill’s on a 2-20 to 1-14 scoreline.

Malin are looking to reach the senior final for the first time in their history, as they look forward to only their second semi-final ever. The Inishowen side defeated Dungloe 0-13 to 1-8 last Sunday, having topped a group that also included MacCumhaill’s, Naomh Muire and Glenfin.

Then at 6pm at MacCumhaill Park, last year’s winners Naomh Conaill are due to meet the side tipped by many this year, last year’s league champions Kilcar. Throw-in is 6pm.

Naomh Conaill, who are under the stewardship of Martin Regan and Martin Doherty, overcame St Eunan’s on Sunday last on a 1-13 to 1-8 scoreline. Beforehand the team from Glenties enjoyed a 100 per cent record in the group stages – the only side to manage that feat – following wins over Termon, Four Masters and Gaoth Dobhair.

Kilcar have been in excellent form this season as well. They are top of Division 4 and topped what many felt was the toughest group in the championship, drawing at St Eunan’s and then beating St Michael’s and then Killybegs. In the quarter-final they were utterly convincing in their 0-19 to 0-4 success over Termon.

So we’re asking you to pick who you think will make up the final pairing and will do head-to-head for the Dr Maguire on Sunday, October 16.

Poll: Who do you think will be finalists in the Donegal SFC this year?

  • Glenswilly and Kilcar (44%, 103 Votes)
  • Glenswilly and Naomh Conaill (42%, 99 Votes)
  • Malin and Naomh Conaill (8%, 19 Votes)
  • Malin and Kilcar (5%, 12 Votes)

Total Voters: 233
