Poll: Who was your Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week?

written by Chris McNulty June 21, 2016

IT’S Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week time and your chance to vote for this week’s star turn with a new prize on offer for the winner.

There was a round of starred games in the AllSportsStore.com All-County Football Leagues at the weekend while the county hurlers and ladies were in action.

We have team up with Murphy’s Gloves to offer a pair of gloves for our weekly winner.

Lee Henderson (Donegal hurlers)

DONEGAL’s Hurlers bounced back to winning ways on Saturday evening with a high-octane win over Fermanagh at Brewster Park – and Lee Henderson was central to it all. In the 3-18 to 3-14 win in the Ulster Shield semi-final, Henderson contributed 1-9. Henderson smashed in a goal in the ninth minute and when the ship was wobbling on the waves late on, the MacCumhaills man was the steadying influence.

Christy Keeney (Bundoran)

BUNDORAN claimed a huge win over Ardara at Pearse Park on Sunday, the Stars of the Sea winning 3-11 to 3-7. Keeney’s two goals were key, his second a wonderful effort drilled to the top corner of the Ardara net. It was a relegation four-pointer and Bundoran had Keeney to thank for the win.

Gareth Concarr (Ardara)

NOT quite the hat-trick ‘hero’ for Ardara, but Gareth Concarr landed three goals and two points and certainly didn’t deserve to be on the losing side against Bundoran. Concarr cracked home two goals in the first half, including a penalty in the 18th minute, and his hat-trick was completed when goalkeeper Conor Carty couldn’t hold his free.

Daire McDaid (Termon)

THE score says it all: Daire McDaid hit a stunning 1-11 for Termon as they defeated Dungloe 1-18 to 1-14 at The Burn Road. His goal arrived in the 25th minute, fetching a long ball forward by Steve McElwaine before finding the bottom corner, giving Danny Rodgers no chance.

Luke Keaney (Four Masters)

A DERBY game at Tir Chonaill Park saw Four Masters overcome Killybegs 2-17 to 0-4 and Luke Keaney was the piston who drove the Four Masters engine. The former Donegal panellist was on song with a superb display, managing to get a goal and scoring a point from 50 metres.
