Outgoing club secretary Alan Martin acted as MC on the night and kept events running smoothly while announcing and introducing the award recipients.

The special guest on the night was Patsy McGonagle, who was manager of the Irish athletics team over a 25-year period from 1992-2017 and who is a previous manager of MacCumhaills.

Patsy acknowledged the late Joe Doherty who gave him the opportunity to train youngsters from an early base at Sean MacCumhaill Park.

Patsy said his involvement with the club meant it was being proud of where he was from, knowing the people he was dealing with and the community.

Patsy detailed the importance of all codes in the club pulling and working together for a common purpose.

Among the award winners was Avril McNamee, who won the Female Singles 4-Wall B Title in 2018 at the World Handball Championships in Minnesota.
