McDaid scooped her second Irish title thanks to a superb win over St Paul’s puncher Zoe McGlone. In the Girl 4, 53kgs final, McDaid defeated McGlone on a 4-1 decision.

The Crana College student last year won the Girl 3, 50kgs title with a win over Sinainn Glynn from Offaly in the decider and she was back in the glory moments on Saturday thanks to a fine triumph at the National Stadium, having last weekend beaten Molly Kearns in her semi-final.

On Friday night, McGonigle won the Girl 2 49kgs final as she narrowly overcame Clann Naofa’s Amy Joyce McDonagh, with McGonigle claiming a 3-2 verdict.

Clarke, a multiple Irish champion, lost out to Caitlin Fryers of Immaculate 3-2 in the Junior 2 final at 50kgs, while McCloskey lost out to Legacy’s Saoirse Roche in the Girl 3 51kgs final.
