FORMER CELTIC AND REPUBLIC OF IRELAND goalkeeper Packie Bonner will be in Letterkenny on Saturday to sign copies of his new autobiography.
The Burtonport man recently launched his tome, The Last Line, written with Scottish writer and broadcaster, Gerard McDade.
Bonner will be at Eason’s in the Courtyard Shopping Centre from 11am on Saturday.
The former goalkeeper was the last signing made by legendary Celtic manager Jock Stein in 1978 when Bonner was snapped up from Keadue Rovers.
He went on to make 641 appearance for Celtic and was capped 80 times by the Republic of Ireland.
Bonner played at Euro ’88 and at two World Cups, Italia ’90 and USA ’94.
He is best remembered for a save from Romania’s Daniel Timofte in a penalty shoot-out in the second round of the 1990 World Cup, which helped Jack Charlton’s team advance to the quarter-finals.
