OISIN ORR’S magnificent 95/1 Dundalk double last night keeps the Rathmullan jockey neatly poised in the battle to be champion apprentice for 2019.

Orr’s pair of victories bring the Donegal jockey to within one win of championship leader Andrew Slattery.

Orr was the 2017 champion apprentice and has had a superb 2019.

Last night in Dundalk, Orr took the 11/1 Masalai and the 7/1 Benedict Roezel to wins for trainer Edward Lynam,

Slattery was second to Masalai aboard the 4/1 favourite Khafaaq.

Masalai was a late entrant to the race and had half-a-length to spare while Orr had a similar margin on Benedict Roezel.

Orr is pencilled in for as many as six mounts at Leopardstown this afternoon.
