Ciaran and Michael O’Connor are among four players who have left Finn Harps, it has been confirmed.
The Dundalk natives have both parted aways with the club, while Gareth Doherty has gone to Dergview, albeit on loan, and Eric Whelan has joined Leinster Senior League side Portmarnock.
Michael O’Connor had been on loan from Shamrock Rovers, but he has rejoined the Tallaght club.
Ciaran O’Connor has left via mutual consent.
Doherty will join Irish League Championship side Dergview on loan until December while Whelan has signed for Portmarnock after having limited chances at Harps.
“The fact of the distance and travel didn’t help in any cases,” Harps manager Ollie Horgan said.
Horgan added striker Nathan Boyle last week. Boyle, who had a previous spell at Harps, played as a substitute and created the goal for John O’Flynn in Friday’s 1-0 win at Drogheda United.
“We are awaiting clearance for two others who will replace the ones going out,” the Harps boss confirmed.
Horgan would not divulge the identity of his new faces and is awaiting results from scans underwent by Paddy McCourt and Mark Coyle, both of whom were forced out of action in Drogheda.
