SHANE TOOLAN HAS BEEN appointed as the new Donegal Referees’ Administrator.
The Aodh Ruadh clubman was voted into the position at last night’s county committee meeting in Ballybofey by club delegates.
Toolan was an active member of the Donegal Referees panel but will now concentrate on looking after the appointments and recruitment of whistlers.
Toolan, formerly a player with Buncrana, takes over from Pat Walsh, who completed his five-year term in office last month.
Toolan is also a well-known rugby referee.
He saw off competition from Naomh Colmcille’s Martin McKinley 40 votes to 28 while Ardara’s Michelle Bennett collected 10 votes.
