Naomh Muire GAA club suspend activity in Covid-19 precaution

THE Naomh Muire GAA club has suspended its activities due to a suspected Covid-19 case within the club,

The Lower Rosses-based club has confirmed a temporary suspension of all activity as a precautionary measure.

In a brief statement, they said: “CLG Naomh Muire are suspending all club activities until further notice due to a suspected case of Covid19 within the club.

“Tá CLG Naomh Muire ag cur ar ceal a gcuid gníomhaíochtaí uilig don tréimhse amach romhainn mar gheall ar amhrás go bhfuil cás Covid19 sa chlub.”

Naomh Muire are due to play Malin in the Intermediate Championship on Saturday evening.

Naomh Muire are the latest club to announce a suspension of activity.

In the last 24 hours, the Four Masters GAA club and Illistrin FC confirmed returns to activity after similar moves while Donegal Town FC will return to action at senior level, although their underage activity remains ceased until September 13.

Drumkeen United are currently on a self-imposed suspension of activity.

In the last few weeks, Naomh Colmcille, Cloughaneely, Naomh Conaill, Curragh Athletic, Mulroy Academy and St Catherine’s FC have temporarily suspended activity. Action in the Donegal Women’s League was also suspended for a two-week period before resuming following a positive test within a member club.
