NAOMH CONAILL CONTINUED their steady start of the season with a comfortable win at Bundoran.

Bundoran 1-13 Naomh Conaill 5-8

Four goals in the opening half did the trick for the county champions, who had Marty Boyle sent off before half-time but still had plenty in the tank to see it out.

After 10 minutes the sides were level at 0-2 apiece with Alan Russell and Michael McEniff on target for the hosts, while Logan Quinn and Dermot Molloy had scored for Naomh Conaill.

Boyle slapped home the first Naomh Conaill goal on 11 minutes before Leon Thompson and Dermot Molloy both found the net in the 20th and 23rd minutes respectively.

When Thompson added his second on 27 minutes, Naomh Conaill were starting to stretch away before Boyle kicked out on Paul Brennan and was dismissed by match referee Enda McFeely.

Naomh Conaill went in 4-4 to 0-7 in front at half-time.

The 14 men performed well after the break, although Bundoran did manage to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Eventually Bundoran did find their rhythm with Christy Keaney, Russell and McEniff hitting some fine scores.

Unfortunately for the Seasiders  any hope of a comeback was halted when Leo McLoone finished to the net with 10 mins remaining. The home side finished strongly and finally got a consolation goal from Russell.
