Convoy ABC’s multiple Irish champion Bryan McNamee chases his latest national title this weekend.

McNamee will line up in the senior 75kgs final at the Third Level Championships in Dublin and is one of four Donegal boxers in finals action.

The Convoy middleweight – a student at Letterkenny Institute of Technology – will take to the canvas at the High Performance Gym in the National Stadium looking to add to his previous Irish crowns, won at schoolboy level.

The flamboyant McNamee awaits the winner of Friday’s semi-final between John Marshall (DCU) and James Gerard McDonagh (GMIT).

Recently, McNamee travelled to Birmingham with the neighbouring Raphoe ABC and, in an international bout, defeated Engish boxer Ollie Cassidy on a unanimous decision.

In 2013, McNamee competed in the European Schoolboy Championships at City West in Dublin and lost the first round to eventual bronze medallist Fokin Dmitrii.

Raphoe ABC’s Ronan Kelly, a student at Technological University, Dublin city will face Euan McConnell of Ulster University in the intermediate 75kgs final.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology student Danny Boyle, boxing out of Dungloe ABC, meets Eghosa Igharo of Dundalk IT in an intermediate 81kgs contest.

Boyle’s fellow Dungloe ABC puncher Kieran McCole, representing DCU is in a welterweight decider. McCole faces Mikey Keating from Waterford IT in the  intermediate 69kgs final.
