GAVIN McLaughlin broke his own shot put personal best twice at a throws meeting hosted by Finn Valley AC.

The Convoy man reached out to a new mark of 17.23m.

Earlier in the evening, McLaughlin set a new best of 17.06m, those performances improving on the 17.03m from Belfast a few weeks ago.

The was an opportunity for competition ahead of the Ulster Championships in Belfast at the Mary Peters Track this weekend. That crew is led by Blaine Lunch who, in wet, breezy conditions was out over 52m with the 600g javelin.

Next Wednesday evening, Finn Valley AC will host a jumps open meet with competitions in long jump, triple jump and high jump.

Entries will be limited. To enter, email finnvalley1@gmail.com
