Brett McGinty, Donna Barr and Stephen McMonagle have semi-finals on Tuesday evening at the Ulster Elite Championships in Belfast.

McGinty, the beaten Ulster Elite final last time around, will face Eraide Muiha from Dockers in a semi-final.

The Oakleaf ABC middleweight – a finalist in the Irish Elite Championships in 2017 and 2018  – will face Muiha at the Belfast puncher’s home venue in the Dockers Club tomorrow night.

McGinty was beaten by Aidan Walsh in the last Ulster Elite final and the St Johnston man is hopeful of getting back into a decider this time around.

Illies woman Barr is in action at 48kgs and has been drawn against Emma Feeney of Virginia in a semi-final and will also fight tomorrow night.

At 91+kgs, McMonagle, a Letterkenny native boxing with the Holy Trinity Club in Belfast, meets Denis Borskins from Sacred Heart, Newry.

The finals will take place on Saturday 19th January 2019 at the Ulster Hall in Belfast and will be shown live by BBC.
