McAleer banned once more as Harps head for Limerick

Caolan McAleer will be suspended again when Finn Harps head for Limerick for a crucial relegation battle at the Markets Field.

The Omagh man (pictured), who had just returned from a two-game suspension for accumulating a dozen yellow cards, was sent off in last Saturday’s FAI Cup game between the teams.

McAleer was given a straight red card midway through the tie, which Limerick won 1-0. Now, McAleer has to sit out tomorrow’s trip and can also expect to receive an additional ban from the FAI’s Disciplinary Controls Unit (DCU).

Harps are also without Packie Mailey, while Damien McNulty is classed as a major doubt, owing to a troublesome shoulder, while Gareth Harkin is suspended having picked up a handful of yellow cards this season

“We’re up against it going to the Markets Field again after losing to Limerick in the FAI Cup last week. But this is league and we have to be brave and go for it as we need the points. Neil McDonald has definitely steadied the ship with the league win over Bohemians a couple of weeks ago and they seem to have tightened up at the back which is going to make it difficult for us to break them down” Horgan said.

Eddie Dsane is available again having served a suspension.
