Letterkenny Ladies Golf Notes:
Following on from her tremendous 39pts. to secure the Captain’s Prize to the Students, Mary Beth McBrearty returned another solid 36pts.(bot) to take the honours again two days later in the club Competition which was sponsored by Ruth’s Pharmacy.
Runner-Up was Ellen Russell 36pts. another of our student competitors who is performing very steadily lately as well.
In 3rd place was Marian O’Sullivan 35pts – Marian performing consistently throughout the season.
Junior Sarah McBrearty won the Back 9 with a very impressive 21pts.
While Rena O’Herlihy showing no signs of stress from moving house won the Front 9 with 20pts.
Ladies will compete for Mr.President Dermot Condon’s prize on Tuesday 1st September. The ladies club extend their best wishes to Dermot for his day on Saturday 5th September. Dermot and Anne were looking forward to having Garret home from Canada to celebrate the big occasion with them but unfortunately Covid 19 has put pay to that. Nevertheless we wish Dermot and Anne well and hope it will be a memorable occasion for them.
The Peggy Forde Open had to be postponed due to Storm Francis but will be played on Thursday 3rd September instead.
Well done to Cynthia Fuery and her team who now progress to the semi finals of the Máire O’Donnell competition having secured the required 3 and a half matches at home against Ballyliffin. Best of luck in the next round.
