Magee siblings to play in quarter-final in Germany today

Sam and Chloe Magee are in quarter-final action today at the SaarLorLux Open in Germany.

The Raphoe brother-sister team will take on the English pair Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith, the number one seeds in the tournament.

The Magees defeated German duo Patrick Scheiel and Franziska Volkmann in their last 16 clash yesterday.

The Donegal players, seeded seventh, won 24-22 21-12 in a hard-fought outing having beaten Daniel Hess and Stine Susan Kuspert on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Joshua Magee lost out to France’s Toma Junior Popov in the men’s singles; Joshua Magee and Paul Reynolds fell to Raphael Beck and Andreas Heinz in the men’s doubles; Rachael Darragh and Sara Boyle lost out to Anastasia Chervyakova and Olga Morozova; with Darragh and Reynolds losing out to Pawel Smilowski and Magdalena Swierczynska.
