FINN HARPS FACE a crunch SSE Airtricity League Premier Division clash in Longford tonight – and we have live updates.

89 mins: Liam Flatley replaces Ryan Curran.

74 mins: TWO NIL!! McNamee’s cross is cut out by O’Connor, but his poor touch goes back to McNamee, who clips into the far corner. Harps 2 Longford 0

62 mins: Chance for Harps, again, but Mailey is blocked by Philip Gannon. Harps 1 Longford 0

53 mins: Chance for Harps to go two up, but McNamee is denied by Skinner after great work by Houston.

The second half is 5 mins old but we’ve had no action yet. ‘Crowd’ confirmed as 351…That’s poor!

The Longford PA man is playing Bruce Springsteen. Must get Kevin Duffy to do likewise at Finn Park. He definitely needs a new CD!

HALF-TIME: Harps 1-0 up on Longford thanks to Josh Mailey’s 18th minute goal.

41 mins: Damien McNulty is yellow carded for a foul that had some home followers baying for a red.

35 mins: David O’Sullivan bundles the ball over the bar from close range as Longford seek for a way back into it.

33 mins: Sean Houston gets possession in a similar as that from which he scored the opener against Sligo. He’s too lax here and the chance is gone.

Longford have been the better side so far, but Tony McNamee is doing his best to make good things happen for Harps. Ollie Horgan appears overly-furious with his men tonight.

18 mins: GOAL. Josh Mailey, in for a first start of the season, delightfully puts Harps 1-0 up. The Letterkenny man’s looping volley flies over Paul Skinner and Harps are ahead, against the run of play. Harps 1 Longford 0

16 mins: Substitution for Harps as Raymond Foy comes on for Gareth Harkin.

15 mins: Real chance for Longford, but Damien McNulty comes to Harps’ rescue with a brave block from Philip Gannon’s shot after a pull-back by Peter McGlynn.

Not much goalmouth action here so far. Mark Hughes with a shot wide from a corner is about as close as either side has come – and that wasn’t very close.

11 mins: Neil Doyle., the referee, has just brought out his vanishing spray. There’s a joke there about the attendance somewhere…

The City Calling Stadium, eh? ‘Twas Flancare Park once. I still call it Strokestown Road. Remember when this place had only a wee bus shelter-type stand. One horrible night and a James Mulligan goal in the Cup…magical nights! The aul magic has been and gone from here, though!

Woeful crowd at the City Calling Stadium here, but decent crew of Harps supporters behind the goal.

Kick-off: The game has kicked off in Longford.

Paul Hegarty was last week confirmed as Ollie’s new assistant manager, but isn’t here tonight as he’s on a pre-arranged family holiday.

Ollie Horgan has made three changes to his team. Packie Mailey is injured and Dave Scully is suspended, while Thomas McMonagle has, surprisingly, dropped to the bench.

Damien McNulty returns from a suspension, while Barry Molloy is back in the XI and Josh Mailey is in for his first start of the season.

Finn Harps: Richard Brush; Josh Mailey, Damien McNulty, Keith Cowan, Ciaran Coll; Barry Molloy; Ethan Boyle, Gareth Harkin, Tony McNamee; Sean Houston; Ryan Curran.

Longford show four changes to their team: Paul Skinner; Mark Hughes, Daniel O’Reilly, Rhys Gorman, Conor Powell; Kealan Dillon, Kevin O’Connor, Philip Gannon, Peter McGlynn; David O’Sullivan, Lee Duffy.
