Listen: ‘We didn’t have enough about us to hold on’ – Ollie Horgan

OLLIE HORGAN was disappointed that Finn Harps ‘didn’t have enough about us’ to hold onto their lot against St Patrick’s Athletic last night.

A Nathan Boyle goal in the first half had Harps in front, but Darragh Markey and Rhys McCabe struck in the second half to swing the pendulum.

“You can’t give away the goals we gave away and expect to get anything out to it,” Horgan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“Without playing all that well, we found ourselves in a great position. We weathered the storm and were right in the game.

“We coughed up possession too easily for the first goal. The second goal, I don’t think I need to explain it…Rhys McCabe made a difference and drove them on,

“To be one-nil up and be quite comfortable on the basis that Mark Anthony (McGinley) had one save to make. If they had scored two wonder goals to beat us, it might have been easier to take.

“We put ourselves in a great position and didn’t have enough about us to hold onto it. It’s a bit unlike us when we have something to hold on to.”
