Terence Colhoun was thrilled to see his Malin side finally ‘click’ last night.

Malin overcame Termon 3-12 to 1-7 at Connolly Park as Terence Doherty’s brace of goals in the second half gave their their first SFC win – and now into contention to advance into the quarter-finals.

“It was a good performance,” Colhoun said.

“We didn’t show our full potential in the last couple of games, but today things clicked.

“The two teams were probably under a bit of pressure.”

Doherty was featuring for the first time in a couple of months and Malin also took Christy Fildara off the bench for a first appearance since undergoing surgery in the summer.

Colhoun, whose team was relegated from Division 2 in the League, added: “When we have everyone there, we can compete with anyone when the minds are in the right frame.”
