Listen: All-Star Ryan McHugh excited by Donegal’s prospects

All-Star Ryan McHugh says Donegal are ‘really happy’ with how they’ve been progressing in early 2019.

The Kilcar man has recently returned to action following a five-month lay-off due to a concussion injury.

Wins over Clare and Meath sees Donegal top the standings in Division 2 ahead of a meeting with Tipperary this weekend.

“At the start of the year, if you said we’d have four points from two games we’d have taken that,” McHugh told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“We’ve a lot of young footballers coming through. We have a lot of players out missing, but the young boys have really stepped up to the plate.

“We’re really happy with how it’s going – and long may it last.

“There are good footballers in Donegal. We have a good squad. It’s a matter of getting it right on the day.

“It’s extremely important to get into Division 1. You want to be playing against the big boys and the top guns.”
