Listen: Shaun McGowan says Ballybofey United aim to ‘kick on’ after League win

Shaun McGowan believes the capture of the CT Ball Division Two League title today will be the spur to kick Ballybofey United on.

Ballybofey defeated Copany Rovers 6-1 at the Finn Valley Centre and collected the prize, although a dominant season isn’t over yet.

Ballybofey have now made it their mission to finish the League season unbeaten while they will meet Rathmullan Celtic in the Brian McCormick Sports Cup.

McGowan bleeds Ballybofey and the former Finn Harps midfielder has been central to his club’s fine campaign.

Things are certainly on the up for Ballybofey,

“It’s huge – especially with the new pitch and the development and the amount of underage we have here,” McGowan said.

“They’re the future of the club and it’s great to see them here today.

“It’s a sign of good things. We have a lot of experience the whole way through.

“We got over the line. If we keep that panel, we’ll be looking to push on.

“We have a very strong panel. The squad won the League for us.”
