Listen: ‘We probably robbed it in the end’ says Loreto, Milford manager Doherty

It was a game of two halves for Loreto CS, Milford boss Adrian Doherty, who saw his side complete a stunning comeback to win the U16 Schools title today.

Loreto trailed Abbey VS by seven points, but they hit eight points in a row to win the final.

“We probably robbed it in the end,” admitted Doherty.

“To come back from that with points, we’re delighted to win it. It’s brilliant to win a county title.

“We just didn’t get going in the first half. We looked slow, we looked dead on our feet. We got a couple of lucky goals and that kept us in distance.

“Donegal Town should have had it won, but we hadn’t played, hadn’t performed.  We said to them to keep ticking away. We outplayed them and turned the screw in the second half. They couldn’t live with us.”
