Listen: Peter Boyle looks to make the most of his big chance

Peter Boyle will start Sunday’s Allianz League fixture with Galway in Letterkenny, but the Ballyshannon man insists that ‘nothing will change’.

Boyle will get the nod to begin in goal for Donegal, a week after he replaced the injured Mark Anthony McGinley in Killarney.

Seven years ago, Boyle played in Jim McGuinness’s first League game as Donegal manager and the Aodh Ruadh clubman is battling to get back in again.

“Nothing will change for me,” he said.

“I’ll prepare the same way, I’ll train the same way and I’ll go to the gym the same way.

“It’s unfortunate that Mark Anthony got injured, but I have to take my chance and make the most out of a bad situation.”

Declan Bonner recently recruited Shaun Patton to go alongside Boyle and McGinley.

Boyle said: “I wouldn’t like to be in Declan’s position picking the ‘keeper. There are three different styles of a goalkeeper there, but the plan stays the same no matter who’s in goal.

“It’s a healthy relationship we have. We push each other to be the best we can be.”
