Peadar Toner praised his ‘unbelievable’ Glenswilly ladies after an epic tussle with Killybegs in yesterday’s Junior B final at Glenfin.

For the first time in Donegal, a game was settled by way of a free-kick shoot-out as Glenswilly – who had goals by Shannagh Kelly and Laura Gallagher in the game – prevailed 3-1 after a contest that lasted close on two hours.

“It was just unbelievable. I didn’t even know this was in a game of football until today!” Toner said.

“It was unreal. We had players who started, came off, but had to go back on again.  A lot of people from Glenswilly are very proud of us today.

“We fought hard. Girls were cramping, but they fought for it.”
