Listen: Paddy McGrath says Donegal have to ‘keep the heads right’

Paddy McGrath says that Donegal have to keep their focus if they’re to emerge from the sticky territory of the qualifiers.

After a five-point win on Saturday against Longford in Ballybofey, Donegal must now pick it up for an away crack at Meath on Saturday in Navan.

“It’s great just to get through that game,” McGrath said after Saturday’s win.

“It was always going to be a sticky encounter, but that’s what the qualifiers are. if you take the eye off the ball you could get caught on the hop. It was tight at half-time and the lads who came off the bench made a difference. It was a tough game but we’re glad to get over the line.

“Hopefully we can keep building now. It’s great to get that win again. So many teams can get caught – you need to have the heads right. It’s new territory.  We’re playing good tough teams now. Hopefully these boys will adapt because they don’t have much time to think about it.”
