Listen: Ollie Horgan preparing for ‘savage challenge’ as Finn Harps host Dundalk

Ollie Horgan says that Dundalk are ‘in a different League’ to his Finn Harps side.

Harps have eight points from their opening seven games as they prepare to welcome the three-in-a-row champions to Ballybofey on Friday night.

Harps are without Ciaran O’Connor, Danny Morrissey and Damien McNulty, all of whom have hamstring injuries. The trio are set to be missing for what Horgan estimates to be ‘three or four weeks minimum’

“Against a team of the quality of Dundalk, we’ll be under massive pressure,” Horgan said.

“They are in a different League to us.”

Dundalk won the corresponding fixture 7-0 last season and Horgan has huge respect for what Stephen Kenny has done at Oriel Park.

Horgan said: “He has taken a group of lads who were – without disrespecting them – going nowhere with clubs, the likes of Chris Shields and Dane Massey.

“To see what he has done in putting them together and they’ve won three Leagues in a row is a savage talent.

“Cork have bridged the gap a little bit. We’re trying to bridge a massive gap and they’re in a different League to us.”
