Mick McGrath has vowed to give ‘commitment’, ‘hard work’ and ‘development’ after being elected as the new Donegal GAA Chairman tonight in Ballybofey.

The Ballyshannon man – pictured by Geraldine Diver – succeeded Sean Dunnion in the Chair at a low-key convention that was completed in just over two hours at Jackson’s Hotel.

“It is a greta honour for me, my family and my club to be elected as County Board Chairman,” McGrath said in a quick address to delegates that lasted just 80 seconds.

“All you will get is what you expect from me – commitment, hard work and continued develop of the association.

“I will pay special attention as always to the involvement of youth and to youth games, which is a vital seed going forward.”

McGrath is the only new face at the top table and added: “Sean will be a hard act to follow. I hope when I step down that I will have given the same time, effort and energy that Sean has given.”

After his election, Mick spoke to Chris McNulty. Listen to the full interview below …
