MICKEY McCann has backed his Donegal hurlers to overcome some injury woes when they face Tyrone in the Nicky Rackard Cup semi-final tomorrow.
Donegal host the Red Hands at O’Donnell Park with a place in the final up for grabs.
“It’s a real 50-50 game and we have to be on the money to come out of this one,” McCann told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
Donegal won the competition in 2013 and 2018, but look set to be without Davin Flynn, Bernard Lafferty and Declan Coulter this weekend.
McCann said: “They’re massive losses. it changes the structure of the whole team. They didn’t play the second half against Armagh. We have to think about what we have now and we need other men to step up. We still have a good forward line there.”
After wins over Armagh and Longford, Donegal are well poised, but Tyrone delivered a reminder of their own worth when they disposed of Monaghan last weekend.
McCann said: “On any given day this Tyrone team are well capable of beating Donegal. They proved their pedigree last year by bearing Mayo in this competition.”
