Listen: Kevin Campbell eager to banish 2018 memories as Setanta reach final again

KEVIN CAMPBELL says Setanta will be going into the 2019 Donegal SHC final with ‘fire in the belly’.

Setanta, who lost last year’s final to Burt, overcame Buncrana 4-19 to 1-12 in yesterday evening’s semi-final.

Setanta were stung hard by losing to Burt in 2018 and have come back with a real edge.

“The precedent has to set for the young boys coming through,” Campbell said.

“When you’re a senior hurler with Setanta, you’re expected to reach and maintain certain standards. There is a lot of hurt there from last year and it’s one that we left behind us.”

Campbell hit nine points in the semi-final, while Davin Flynn and Mark Devine each scored two goals.

Campbell said: “We have a lot of things to work on. Would that performance be good enough to win a county final? You’d have to say no.

“Fair dues to Buncrana, they came at us in the second half, but they probably had a bit too much to do.”
