Listen: “It’s my job,” says Benny Fildara after match-winning haul for Malin

Benny Fildara clipped 1-8 last night as Malin reignited their Championship challenge with a 1-13 to 0-11 win over Sean MacCumhaills at Connolly Park.

The livewire forward scored a late goal, finishing past Eoin Gallen after his initial effort came off a post, and it was a strike that finally took Malin sufficiently clear.

“It’s my job,” he said afterwards.

“I’m not a defender. I make defender’s life hard and I try to do that.. I’m here to score.

““We could have had more, but as long as we got it towards the end.

“The pressure was on us. We had to win. The job was at stake and we’re happy that we got the win.”
