ZOE GREEN believes strength-in-depth could be key for the Letterkenny Institute of Technology ladies this term.

Green scored the second goal, after the opener by Tara O’Connor, yesterday as Johnny Baird’s team put Ulster University, Jordanstown, to the sword 2-0 at The Port Road.

Green has been a mainstay of the team in the last couple of years and hailed the new recruits after yesterday’s win.

“We’ve added a few new girls and they’ve really helped us,” Green told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“We know we can rely on the bench and it’s very important to have that strength coming on.”

LyIT bossed the game and were deserving winners with UU rarely threatening to breach Aoife McColgan’s line.

Green said: “We played them last year and we knew how good they were. It was important we went out strong, We knew we had to up the performance.

“It was good to get the three points. We had to push hard for it. It was great to start that way.’
