GRACE BOYLE has promised that the 2019 Donegal Sports Star Awards function will be another ‘huge event’.

Over 500 people will be in attendance at the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, on January 31 for the function with former world champion Rob Heffernan confirmed as the special guest.

“It will be a huge event as usual,” Ms Boyle, the Donegal Sports Star Awards Chairperson (pictured by Geraldine Diver), told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“It’s important that whoever is there has a good, enjoyable night. It will be another celebration of sport in Donegal.

“It has been building over the years. There are so many sports now and people are so much more involved in exercise. That reflects in the number of nominations that we get.”

At the launch, also held in the Mount Errigal, the 1979 award winners were honoured and Ms Boyle said: “We’re delighted that we’re facilitating this for the people of 40 years ago. It means a lot to them.”
