Gary Duffy says Donegal’s talent can match Tyrone’s as the county’s prepare to meet in the Ulster Minor Championship on Saturday evening.
Donegal host Tyrone at Sean MacCumhaill Park (throw-in 6pm) with Tyrone buoyed by their winning of the Jim McGuigan Cup.
“We have a lot of talent in Donegal and it’s about getting the right combination for that talent,” Donegal manager Duffy told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“It doesn’t work with the flick of a switch. If we focus on our own football, our own skill and our own mindset, things will work and fall into place. It’s key for Saturday that we get settled in quickly.”
Tyrone overcame Monaghan in the Jim McGuigan final having previously beaten Donegal in the group phase. In Strabane, Donegal led by three points before a second-half fightback saw the Red Hands win 1-11 to 1-9.
Duffy said: “We were experimental in the League, using different players in different positions to try and get the best combination from Donegal.
“We’re focussing our own game from that. We have to get our best come Saturday evening.”
