Listen: Finn Harps keen to give Horgan ‘the tools and backing he needs’

Finn Harps Commercial Manager Aidan Campbell insists the club’s Board intend to do what they can to back manager Ollie Horgan’s Premier Division plans.

While Horgan has been given a significantly increased budget for the 2019 season, Harps’ wage bill is still dwarfed by those of their Premier Division rivals.

“We have to be very honest about the challenges we’re facing,” Campbell, above right, told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub, last night when Harps confirmed Superior MICAD as the club’s back-of-jersey sponsor at a public meeting in Ballybofey.

“It will be as big a task off the pitch as on it. We’re very excited about being back in the Premier, but that comes with expectation.

Horgan had 14 players signed up for 2019 and Harps continue to appeal to the business and corporate communities to get behind the club.

Campbell said: “We want to give the manager the backing and the tools he needs.

“It would be nice to reward him and his staff by saying: ‘Look, we’re going to do our best to give you a bit more to give you a chance of staying in the Premier Division.’

“The social and sporting benefits are huge from a successful Finn Harps.”
