When Declan Coulter was mulling over a transfer to Setanta, the Armagh native told the Crossroads men he’d make the move only if they were serious about silverware.
Coulter was true to his word and Setanta, so far, have been true to theirs.
The former Armagh Nicky Rackard All-Star winner has hurled with Donegal, too, and has had a fine 2017.
Coulter has added a considerably potency to the Setanta attack and will hope to fire them to Ulster Junior Championship glory on Sunday against Na Magha in Ballybofey.
“It’s going to be a big task to take on Na Magha on Sunday,” said Coulter.
“They have talent all over the field. We won’t be underestimating them at all. We can’t take them lightly and we know it’ll go to the wire.”
Setanta captured a first Donegal SHC title in nine years when they defeated St Eunan’s in this year’s final.
It wasn’t all plain sailing, though.
Coulter said: “The first Championship game this year against Burt was an eye-opener, but we’ve been on a roll since. You can see the difference in attitude and preparation since then.”
