Declan Bonner takes charge of a Donegal team for an Ulster SFC game, 20 years on from his first venture this Sunday.
Bonner first held the Donegal reigns after being appointed as PJ McGowan’s successor in 1997. In 1998, when Donegal reached the Ulster final they lost to Derry, Bonner’s Donegal beat Antrim at Casement Park in a quarter-final.
Bonner says he has a full deck to shuffle for Sunday’s clash with Cavan in Ballybofey.
“It’s all coming together at the right time,” he said.
“The lads have been training hard for the last five or six weeks and it’s been very good. We need to get a performance now to take us over the line.”
