Listen: Danny Cullen says Division 3A final was best ever by Donegal hurlers

Danny Cullen says yesterday’s Division 3A final over Tyrone was the best performance he’s ever seen by a Donegal team.

The Donegal captain – pictured above with Setanta and Donegal colleagues – lifted the Division 3A title after a stunning 4-25 to 1-11 win over the Red Hands at Celtic Park with Davin Flynn (2), Stephen Gillespie and Ronan McDermott getting the goals.

“It’s great – I couldn’t believe that scoreboard,” said Cullen after the win.

“The lads were very clinical from the first ball and the defence was very solid. It was a great peformance – one of the best I’ve seen by a Donegal team in my time.

“There are some superb hurlers there and they’re all great stick men.”

Cullen delivered another fine display in the engine room and the Setanta man wants Donegal to kick on after getting promotion back into Division 2B – meaning an immediate return following relegation last year.

Cullen said: “We really upped it. We had the potential to play like that all year – hopefully now we can keep bringing that into games.’
