Listen: Daniel McLaughlin and St Michael’s go to knockout stage in high spirits

Daniel McLaughlin says St Michael’s are going into the senior championship quarter-finals in fine fettle after maintaining their perfect record in Group C.

A 2-18 to 0-11 win over Malin at The Bridge sends the Creeslough-Dunfanaghy representatives into the last eight as one of the county’s form teams.

“We won’t look past the quarter-finals,” McLaughlin insisted.

“We’ll just see who we get in the draw and see where that leads us. We got a few wins in the back end of the League and three wins in the group stage. We’re playing some good football and going in with confidence.”

After wins over Termon, Four Masters and Malin, St Michael’s are through as group winners into this evening’s quarter-final draw.

Last night, Jamie Hunter and Stephen Doak hit the goals and McLaughlin added: “For us, it was getting through the games, through the group and progressing as much as we could in every game. We got through it in the end up.”
