Barry Doherty believes Kilcar are becoming ‘hard to beat’ as they prepare for the long haul again.

Kilcar overcame hosts Gaoth Dobhair 1-9 to 0-9 in today’s senior final at Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta.

“It’s been a while since we won this, so it’s great to win it,” Doherty told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“If you want to be playing come Championship, it’s on days like this that you show it. A lot of these guys are hungry to get in the team and hungry for success.”

Kilcar ended a 24-year wait for Donegal SFC glory in 2017, but were hit by key injuries last year as they relinquished their hold

But Doherty is optimistic now.

He said: “We lost guys at key times last year. We’re starting to look like we’re getting close to a standard that will make us hard to beat. We have to do what we do and work hard.” Listen to the full interview below …
