Listen: Aidy Glackin insists all of Glenswilly’s eggs are in Championship basket

Glenswilly manager Aidy Glackin insists that all their focus is on the Championship, even if they are in the mire in Division 1 of the All-County League.

A five-point defeat to St Eunan’s last night at Pairc Naomh Columba means that the reigning county champions remain locked on eight points with Bundoran, just three points clear of basement side Four Masters.

But, with a mouth-watering Championship tussle to come against Gaoth Dobhair, Glackin says their gaze won’t come off their defence of Dr Maguire.

“We’re in danger, but we’re not panicking,” he said.

“Our focus has never been nor will be the League. The big thing for us is Gaoth Dobhair in the Championship in Magheragallon. That’s set up for a cracker.”

Nine points by Niall O’Donnell and 1-2 from Conor Gibbons gave Eunan’s a 1-16 to 1-11 win.

Glackin said:  “You’re never happy with a defeat, but we have to take the positives. We coughed up a bit cheaply, but we had a lot of boys missing there. I’m relatively happy. We’ve had a tight month there, but the three-week break knocked us out of the stride a bit.”
