This race route proved a popular route which provided some great performances, personal bests and season bests from our club athletes, some of which were recovering from racing the much longer distance of 10 miles last weekend, displaying their racing diversity and ability to race various distances throughout the racing season.

For Lifford Strabane AC it was Alan McGinley that finished first for the club, placing second overall in a super-fast time of 16:17.

Lifford Strabane AC’s Paul Kelly was next to the line placing third overall running a season’s best in a superb time of 17:25.

In the Ladies race, it was Lifford Strabane AC’s leading lady Claire McGuigan that stole the show picking up the silverware finishing first lady, placing fourth overall running a season’s best in a fantastic time of 17:35.

Claire was awarded the Gerry O’Donnell Cup for the second consecutive year.

Edel McCauley was the only other female participant for the club with a time of 30:41. This athlete is recovering from an injury and it’s great to see her making progress, getting back on to the roads!!

In the Junior Male Category, it was Lifford Strabane AC’s young Cormac Carlin that finished first, placing 14th overall and fourth finisher for the club.
