LETTERKENNY GOLF CLUB’S five-handicapper Brendan McGrath will represent Donegal at the Grand Finals of the Irish Open Matchplay.

The 32-year-old (pictured above) beat Declan Murrin (9) from Narin & Portnoo away from home on Sunday in the the Donegal Matchplay final, with the match running until the 19th. Beforehand, McGrath  overcame Gerard Duffy (6) – the current captain of Letterkenny Golf Club – on the 18th in Portsalon.

McGrath will now take part in the Grand Finals weekend in October on the O’Meara course at the home of Irish Golf, Carton House, in Maynooth, Co Kildare. The event will be screened live on Setanta Sports TV.
