Sunday 9th saw the Arena 7 sponsored Open take place and bowling over the opposition was club Captain Gerard Duffy showing us once again that his busy year representing the club did his golfing prowess no harm at all!

Disregarding a bogey at first, Gerard’s birdies at 4th, 7th & 12th had him return a two under par score from 2nd thru18th, with his only blemish being a bogey at par three 13th!

With 22pts on front nine [35 gross], Gerard’s level par on inward nine gave him an overall 71gross score [1 under par] and a prizewinning 42pts. In runner-up spot was Cat 4 member Brian Carney [26] who, despite a couple of “blanks” on the card, turned in a very creditable 40pts to win on B.O.T. from Ollie O’ Dowd [13] who covered front nine in 39 shots [22pts] and finished with 40pts also. Gross was collected by Connor Friel[6] whose birdie at 11th helped him finish at 1 under par from 7th thru 18th and 33 gross pts.
