Letterkenny Golf Club: Bank Holiday hole-in-one for Michael Forde

Regardless of the bad weather conditions, golf of a high standard is still been played in Letterkenny. 

On Wednesday, Tim O’Farrell (18) had a very steady game with 5 pars and a birdie won the competition with 40 points (bot).

Michael Collum (5) came in second 40 points and Michael P. O’Donnell (12) came in third place with 37 points.

On Saturday, there was a good turnout for the Open.

Donal Murphy (14) had a good round of golf to win on the day with 43 pts.  He had 8 pars and an eagle on the 10th, ( Brilliant Golf ). Jo Lambe (18) came in second with 39 points and Paddy Hannigan (8) got third place with 36 points.

On Sunday, Michael Nelis (12) was the winner with 37 points having got 6 pars and 1 birdie on his way around the course.

Michael Boyd (16) was runner up with 36 points (bot) and Micholas R. Kenny came in 3rd with 36 points.

Kevin Rafferty (5) won gross with 35 points.

On Bank Holiday Monday, October 30th, the Two Man Scramble was run.  Michael Collum / Michael Forde won with a score of 61.0.

Just for good measure Michael Ford had a hole in one the 16th. Gerry O’Sullivan / Rory McCrory came in second with 64.7 and Michael Shiel / /Denis Murphy got 3rd place with a score of 65.0.

On November 1, the Wednesday Open was run.

Tony J. McNamee Snr. (22) won the competition with 37 points. getting 6 pars in the process.

Tommy Daly (20) took 2nd place with 35 points and Hector McLlwaine (20) took 3rd place with 34 points.

On Saturday, November 4, the Open was won again second Saturday in succession by Tim O’Farrell (17). He scored 38 points taking 5 pars with him. Bryan Harkin (21) came in 2nd with 33 points (bot) and Kenny King got 3rd place 33 points.

On Sunday, November 5, the Members Competition was won by Roy McCrory (8) with 36 points having got 8 pars and 2 birdies.

John Hession (19) got 2nd place with 35 points and Michael Collum (6) 3rd place with 34 points.

For those interested, cards are been played in the clubhouse every Wednesday night commencing at 8pm sharp.
